This work is a large-scale reinterpretation of a “La Central” matchbox, a brand with over 100 years of history in Mexico. The piece transforms an everyday object into a symbol of popular memory, evoking the colors, typography, and textures that have accompanied generations in their daily lives.

More than just a replica, it’s a tribute to Mexican utilitarian graphic design and to those small objects that—though seemingly insignificant—are part of our collective imagination. Its scale invites us to look at the familiar through new eyes and rediscover the beauty in the ordinary.
